Personal behavior profiles – tracking dogs for welfare monitoring

AIMS

  • We optimize our kennels for videorecording so that we are capable of applying the latest in deep/machine learning based animal tracking/welfare monitoring techniques
  • We use behaviour flow analysis to build individual behaviour profiles for each of the dogs at baseline and monitor how they change in response to training and treatment
  • We compare and contrast the new behavioural analysis approaches we apply to previous gold standard behavioural analysis techniques used in dogs
  • We increase the reliability and reproducibility of welfare monitoring in dogs and show that advanced behavioural analysis tools developed for rodents can be used in other species
